Application and Requirements 

What are the Requirements for Applying to the Program?
  • You must be a current high school school junior or senior and resident of Stamford, CT

  • You must be available for a six-week commitment from the middle of June through begining of August 

  • Complete a 30 minute interview at the Government Center

  • Attend a mandatory 4 day training prior to the start of employment

  • Attend mandatory Mayor's Youth Employment Program Kick-off Luncheon

  • Work for five weeks from Monday through Thursday and participate in leadership training at (Location TBD) on Friday's from 9:00 to 12:00  

  • Program  applications are available during the month of April on the website in a fill-able form.  If you cannot print the application they will be available at the Youth Services Bureau on the 6th floor of the Government Center

  • Please note: the application can be completed in the fill-able form attached; however it must be printed and applications MUST BE hand delivered to the Human Resources Department (9th floor Gov Center).  If you cannot hand deliver we will accept applications scanned to email ( or faxed to 203-977-5515.

  •  Completed applications are submitted in PRINTED FORM to the City of Stamford's Human Resources Department.  THE APPLICATION PROCESS IS NOT A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS - ALL APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED BY EMAIL TO SET UP AN INTERVIEW.

  • The online application can be saved as a pdf file and cannot be edited once saved

  • Please be certain to keep track of the information you are entering into the online application so you don't inadvertently lose your information

  • The first 150 applications will be contacted for interviews. A waiting list will be established for each applicant thereafter.
